A lot of folks on that thread who aren't around much anymore...

Those folks ... 'bout a half of a dozen I see that were solid contributors. We talked about one in the last week or so, another had three usernames before he left for good saying "argghh" on the way. One is deep in law enforcement (federal) and his username fits with current events. Two, CJ and swamp, no clue...

I managed to avoid that thread for two years...then got suckered in...and someone decided to bump it in the night. And again, for a lunch special today? That was vBulletin software ... geez, a LONG time ago.

Don't forget, Saban's fourth year team regressed. In fact, some deep thinkers began to wonder if he was overpaid, and if we would've been better off to stay with Shula...

Is Alabama getting a good return on their investment? How good is Alabama's head coach Nick Saban and his staff? After watching them demonstrate they were a much better team than Auburn for a quarter and a half, and then follow it with the characteristics of a poorly coached undisciplined team, I'd have to say poor to average. If you look at them as recruiters only, they are very good. If you look at their record in contrast to what is a very similar record of Mike Shula in 2005, shortly removed from NCAA sanctioned sholarship limitations, they are just a way overpaid average head...
