Yikes... I truly hope not, I dont usually question much Coach Saban does but good lord. Kiffin's offense was horrific at USC (with him as head coach), every other play was a damn bubble screen.

LK is as good of an OC that has come along. Some people are natural coordinators and not a head coach. IMO, LK is a perfect example of that description. I am not a viles fan at all but what he did to ut is just WRONG!

Seriously, I see many advantages to having discussions about varying philosophies. You can talk and consider yet still discount any and all ideas. But when you explore others' ideas, you can get an idea about what the "other side" is thinking. It could help your defense as much as your offense.

Kiffin was a better OC than he was a HC. I would listen to what he has to say...when you think you know it all or don't need help is when you are in trouble.

Lance (as Al Davis used to call him), has a very good football mind. He just happens to not be a very good head coach and he's a bit of a pr!ck, too. Either way, I think his input on the offense would be very valuable. Just because you don't like the guy, don't underestimate his football capacity.

We've had some experience with position coaches or coordinators moving into the head coaching job. They didn't work out very well either.

Yeah, my gut reaction was PUKEEE when I read the thread title. But you raise a good point. An extra set of eyes from the other side can really open one's perspective and philosophy.

I dont like him at all but yall are also forgetting he still called the plays for USC as head coach and it was horrible.

I would listen to Lane. I don't like him personally, but he's got a great football mind. Saban wouldn't bring him in if he didn't think he could bring something valuable to the team. Saban is a lot, but an idiot isn't one of them

Doubt it, coaches routinely share information. I would imagine that Fisher has reached out with regards to Auburn.

Alabama talked to Oklahoma earlier this year/last year about the 3-4 defense.
