A year and a half ago a good friend of mine lost the middle of his three daughters in an automobile accident. She was 14.

I found out in the wee hours of this morning that the same friend lost his oldest in another auto accident Tuesday.

Hug your kids and thank God you have them - then enjoy every moment.

Losing even one child that way is an unspeakable tragedy. I can't imagine the grief that fanily is going through. My prayers go out for his family.

So true Big Fan.

I kept my daughter out of school yesterday and brought her to the office with me for no reason other than I wanted to spend the day with her. We had a great day, went to lunch together and I still managed to get a lot of work done. Give it a try if your job allows you to do it.

Spend time with your kids. Talk to them. Listen to them. Tell them you love them. Hug them. There's no promise of tomorrow for anyone.

Right now, I'm lucky. My kids attend the same school where I teach. I get to see them everyday. They ride to and from school everyday with me. I'm very blessed.

My sincere condolences to your friend Big_Fan. I can't imagine how difficult that would be, and I don't even have kids yet (our first one is due in March).

I am sitting here in the library trying to do a Greek exegesis final and finding it incredibly difficult.

That is sad beyond measure. I cannot even imagine what it would be like to lose my child.

My most sincere prayers go out to that family.
