TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball earned a pair of wins Saturday in its fall opener at Rhoads Stadium.
The Crimson Tide opened the day with a 10-1 win over Pensacola State before shutting out Memphis, 8-0.

FROM HEAD COACH PATRICK MURPHY
"The fall games are always a good opportunity for the new players to get some of the jitters out and just go out and play. They got a lot of playing time and all did well. I like the speed on offense, we made some great plays on defense and the three pitchers all looked good."

ALABAMA VS. PENSACOLA STATE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Senior Sarah Cornell started the game in the circle, throwing 3.2 innings with four strikeouts, while senior Krystal Goodman closed out the game adding a pair of Ks
  • Senior Bailey Hemphill had three hits, including two doubles, along with five RBIs
  • Graduate transfer Alexis Mack impressed in her Crimson Tide debut, going 4-for-4 including an RBI single in the fourth inning
