I know who cares but its always fun wondering who we might face in the SEC Championship game. At first i was going to say Georgia but as of late with all of their off the field issues I have changed my mind to South Carolina

If I had to pick one, I'll go with Georgia. One word: schedule. My second choice is South Carolina. With Lattimore back, Shaw with a bit more experience, and the team (I would assume) hungry after falling short.

My dark horses? Tennessee or Missouri. I know I know, it's Missouri...but it wouldn't be the strangest thing to ever happen. Up there? Yes. But not the most.

I was going to start a thread about this subject as it was Lance. You beat me to it.

I'll add one thing to your question to those who have the balls to step out on a limb. Who finishes 2nd through 7th and what's their SEC record?

1) UGA - 6-2 : They beat South Carolina, but still drop two. Early thoughts are UT and UF.

2) UofSC - 6-2 : Losses to LSU and UGA.

3) UT - 4-2 : Losses to Bama and UF.

3) UF - 4-2 : Losses to LSU and UofSC.

5) Mizz - 4-4 : Losses to Bama, UofSC, UF, and UT.

6) Vandy - 1-6 : Wins over UK.

7) UK - 0-6 : I'll say this. 3 - 9 overall.

With the schedule that they have, I was predicting UGA at one time, but with the recent dismissals, suspensions, and just overall turmoil, I've changed my mind. I'm going with USCe winning the East. And this rides on the fact of Lattimore staying healthy.

Dark horse candidate, Mizzou.

can you imagine Missouri coming in and winning the East, everyone will be saying the SEC must not be that tough

i see them losing to South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee but getting the best of Georgia and Florida

Still not sure how the game against A&M will go though

Georgia will once again find a way to lose to USCe. I don't see them running the table in the SEC after that. Missouri's passing game could embarass their suspension depleted secondary.

USCe 6-2
UGA 6-2
TN 4-4
Fla 4-4
Mo 4-4
VU 1-7
KY 0-8

Joe, I'll agree with you and your predictions. UGA has the easiest route but with everything going on with them, I don't see them being able to pull it out. USCjr gets in and we beat them like a drum.

1) South Carolina - Spurrier is gonna have his best squad IMO even with the losses of Jeffrey & Ingram. Clowney is going to be a TERROR, Lattimore will be hungry as hell and will be the work horse. Still wont be enough to win the SEC but this will be their best shot.

2) Georgia - They just cant get it right over there, Crowell prolly wont be their last problem. Murray is considered one of the best QBs in the country yet makes sure he sh*ts the bed everytime hes put in a big time situation. Its put up or shutup for Richt and co.

3) Tennessee - Def. gonna be the most improved team in the conference and they will give teams fits this year with a few upsets. Im still not sold on Bray, he will prolly get killed again by Bama. Those receivers are going to be a problem. Dooley is trying his best and I think if they give him more time he may get Tennessee back.

4) Florida - Will be improved but gonna struggle at QB and with the new offense there will be growing pains. I think Musschump will get that defense right tho.

5) Missouri - Gonna put up some points but gonna give up more.

6) Vanderbilt - I feel bad for them, dont think they make it to a bowl this time.

7) Kentucky - Is it basketball season yet?

Clowney is a hell of a defensive lineman, no doubt. But, it's because of that very attribute I feel Devin Taylor just shows out this year.

I just think its gonna be hard to stop Clowney. He got thrown into the fire early and was extremely good then, now hes good with the speed of the game, a full year in the weight room to get even bigger, if his worth ethic matches the talent then yikes.

I think folks are underestimating the Gators IMO.
It's Muschamp's 2nd year so the 1st year jitters & get-to-know-ya stuff will be gone and their 17 return starters will be much more finely tuned and focused. Last season w/ Muschamp in his 1st year they went 7-6 with a nasty schedule (LSU, South Carol, and Auburn away). This year they have all their major SEC matches in the swamp. If they can minimize losses to just 2 (LSU & Florida State) you never know. And besides... tell me your dream SEC championship game this year wouldn't be the rebuilding Gators against the rebuilding Tide. Go Gators!!! ROOOOLLLLL TIDE!!!

South Carolina wins it. UGA has too much strife. They don't have a dominant o-line; they still need a good back and theirs is in Montgomery. So, my order:

USCe
UGA/UF- I'm somewhat lost here. I think UF can take out UGA in Jacksonville. How does the rest of their season go? I keep switching these two around
UT
Vandy
Mizzou
UK

While the Gators would be a nice matchup, they too have questions on offense even with 17 starters back on both sides of the ball. They will be better but still will lose 3-4 games. USCjr has too much and experience to boot for the Gators to overcome.

By the way, BAMA doesn't rebuild, WE RELOAD!!!

That's why I'm thinking he's getting a double team. It wasn't seen much in the last two-thirds of last season because Melvin Ingram jumped on the scene in a dramatic fashion.

Devin with Clowney makes a DE combination that isn't beaten by any teams in the SEC. I'm not saying they're the best duo, but there certainly aren't any that separate themselves as being better.

The one thing I find worth watching with UofSC is how their defensive line performs this year. Ellis Johnson's has always been able to put a good game plan together for his DL. While I'm not saying Ward isn't going to be a good coordinator, I'm curious if he'll be as good with that group as Johnson.

In a sense, Florida is in its first year with their offense and second year with their defense.

The hiring of Weis was a mistake. Now, it's a new ball game again. IF they can find an offense, I do believe they'll make some waves.

One of my "top 10 SEC games of 2012" is the LSU visiting Florida game.
