2016 is over and Bama just lost the CFB; Next up is signing the 2017 recruiting class.
Who is in town and ready to start the process?

Who are those recruits Bama desperately needs and will probably get?

Who do you think will step up to replace the Grads?

Road to 17 started early this morning... ROLL TIDE ROLL

The Oline 5* are a must to wrap up... our Oline play this year has been sub-par in the pass blocking area. Run blocking has been good, but some piss poor pass blocking for sure. Unfortunately, FR OLine smarting is not normally a good thing... exception being Williams of course...

Next year will be interesting. We have Ridley returning and hopefully a healthy Bo and Damien.... hopefully a more seasoned Oline (not holding breath). QB will be a Jalen, if he can develop a passing game... and then No one besides the incoming FR... yikes. Defense will see a bunch of young LB's that I'm curious to see how they do.

Losing A. Taylor on the O-line was a HUGE blow! Kirven was just awful. So, stabilizing the O-line is a must. Next, finding a viable replacement for Eddie Jackson is key. Hootie doesn't have "it" and I'm not sure D. Thompson has developed enough to play a role. Overall, I predict BAMA will run the table next year! Undefeated heading into championship game verses Oklahoma.

To close the recruiting cycle, we need: Ruggs (WR), Ray (DE), Solomon (NT), Collins (WR/TE - Howard's replacement) and Parks (DE).

I wonder what happened to Cotton... Thought he had some positive momentum when he got his second opportunity.

Also could consider here, who do we lose. That could come before signing day.

I don't think Marlon is ready. Just my opinion. We lose a ton of seniors on D. But I think Cam is the only one that goes out from the Junior class. Will there be some surprises? Guys that leave early that catch us off guard? Not usually. Is there a chance we lose only 1 Junior?

I don't think Humphrey is ready either. And I'm not being critical as much as he's just not the dominant guy to be the number one cornerback off the board in the draft. But all these so-called experts say that that is where he will go. And therefore I really don't see him staying. That is a lot of money to leave on the table to come back for your senior year. I could be wrong

While playing at a high level, there were too many times Hump was beaten this year, and remember he has only 2 years of playing time. But if he gets a 1st round grade, it will be hard to walk away from the money and while he could gain valuable experience playing in the SEC, he will probably gain more experience playing in the NFL (while being paid the big $) and have a year or two to get better and make the starting team. Most likely he heads to the league and one of the back ups gets to learn OJT during the spring/summer to step in. Levi Wallace is a Jr (he stepped in when Hump missed some time this year) and there is talent in the Fr class who have gotten some PT this year.

CamRob is a lock to leave and with the mental lapses at times this year, I hope the stock pile of OL on the roster and the incoming class will shore up a leaky front. The middle seemed to be very hard to stabilize, esp after Shank went down. Not sure if it was the protection calls by BB or just lack of ability by the OG's? Seemed that BB was the bright spot but I leave that for more knowledgeable player/coach types we have on the board. Prayers be needed for the OL. Even while only losing 2, there is much work to be done here.

There's how I look at a lot of these guys situations. I have to ask myself, "how much more can he learn in the SEC to prep him for the NFL?" Of course, that's versus how much can he learn in the league ...

While admittedly I don't follow the NFL I do wonder how many corners are truly ready for the league when they leave college. I thought Marcus Peters was an anomaly when he was playing at UDub. So, maybe one a year is ready for the league?
