šŸˆ So tired of hearing Tebow's "Varsity Blues" speech

Well, they just played Tim Tebow's nearly-psychotic BCS Championship game half-time tirade speech - AGAIN. "We got 30 minutes for the rest of our lives!!!" I can't believe that nobody - and I mean nobody - comments on how that is the EXACT same speech Moxon gives at half-time in Varsity Blues (he said 24 minutes - a high school game). It is so obvious, but we have to listen to nauseating Tebow worship and how inspiring he is. Hey, anybody can scream movie quotes at half-time.

I know Tebow is special and inspiring, but in this case, how about a hint of a reality check among the media Tebow-worshippers?!

I can't believe anyone would be tired of listening to the media tell us how fortunate we all are to have Tebow.

Typical ESPN spin; now they're telling us that Barkley is the next college super star. They've preordained this, so just expect Barkley to get Tebow-style coverage for the next 3 or 4 years. ESPN is nothing but a bunch of hangers-on and parasites who try and latch their wagon on to successful entities and milk it for all it's worth.

I bet ya 20 years from now we will still have to hear Tebows name again and again on ESPN. :nana:

It might not be well received, but the kid is getting a game ball tomorrow in my column.

I had the chance to watch the pre-game warm-ups at a studio here in town today...impressed.

I'm a fan of Tebow's but will agree that the media overdoes it. What I don't understand is why, with 8 minutes left in the third quarter and a 42-3 lead, is Tebow still in the game?

I have been asking the same question, but the answer is obvious: to run up the score for the BCS computers, and to pad Tebow's stats for the Heisman race - he has 305 total yards right now and 5 TDs. I like to think CNS wouldn't do that.

It's not Tebow's fault the media has decided to make everyone sick. I'm just looking forward to ruining his final Championship hopes. I really believe if we make it back to Atlanta we will beat them. And that will make all the media coverage agony go away!

I'd bet, in 20 years, you'll say "I remember seeing that kid play in person." JMO.

Tebow's a great player, and Barkley will most likely be very good as well. Maybe great. I just don't need ESPN to ram it down my throat at every opportunity, much less tell me what I'm supposed to think about a given player.

Given how ESPN runs their game I translate their comments on Barkley to mean that (A) ESPN still has USC's back, and (B) Terrell Prior's stock is falling along with his team's. I guess he's no longer the chosen one.

The only thing that could be worse than this is if Urban Meyer does go to Notre Dame. You guys think the spin is bad now?

We get to play them the next 2 years, no matter what. Wouldn't it be great to beat them 5 times in 3 seasons? :panic:
that said, I agree that Tebow is a fantastic player, one of the best ever. But the media coverage of him is sickening. I just change the channel or go get another drink.
