🏈 So, since we've done the Eastern division, how are you calling the West this season?

I'd put the Swamp in the afternoon right beside Tiger Stadium at night. And, there's a number of other places you can rank there with them.

LSU is a good team and they play as well on the road as they do at home. It's that very reason they carry one of the lowest home field advantages in college football. The current average in the NCAA is roughly 3.8. LSU at the highest may get a point and a half, but I'm more inclined to believe it's around a point based on their ranking. Which, btw, is only slightly lower than ours.

So may here have 1) Bama, 2) LSU, 3) Arkansas, which points toward that game deciding the west unless one of these teams loses another. It seems that this would imply that the LSU @ Arkansas game on 23Nov would be the second most interesting game in the west this season.:food-smiley-007:

1. Bama
2. LSU
3. M St
4. ArK
5. Aub
6. aTm
7. OM

Has M State finally found a qb?
Will Ark be able to replace several good defenders who graduated?
Will aTm adapt to the SEC?

Answers: maybe, maybe, no.

That's a deceiving statistic and it's not accurate as well.

On weekends where LSU is hosting a game of importance, you've got CBS jumping all over it in their selections therefore putting it as an afternoon game. The last game of importance—as in playing a team that's good that year—at night in Death Valley was against Florida in 2009. LSU lost.

Look at the teams they played last year as an example. Arkansas was a good one and they met in the afternoon. A 7-6 Florida team visited Tiger Stadium last year: 3:30PM kickoff CBS. Auburn visits LSU last year; 3:30 kickoff CBS.

That might be a CBS conspiracy against LSU moving all those games to the afternoon! ;)

1) Bama - outscoring opponents - bashing faces
2) Arky - QB is magical
3) LSU - "team" problems take toll that talent can't make up for. Mettenburger doesn't gel with this bunch of hooligans. no cohesiveness.
4) Miss St - consistent ground game and decent defense. 2 unexpected wins early in season
5) Auburn - QB problems - lots of "minnol errs"
6) A&M - punching bag
7) The misses - punching bag's punching bag

Just an observation:

People point to different coordinators and say it's a disadvantage for teams like Auburn.

But, people point to Arkansas and say they'll be contending despite replacing both coordinators and still average on defense.

Excellent observation, maybe it is because we just don't like the Razorbacks while we really HATE Aubarn...

I've always attempted to look at these things objectively. That "hatred" is blinding some I feel. Considering Auburn returns their entire front seven and Van Gorder has fielded some good SEC defenses I'd put Auburn's defense as the third best in the SEC West. That's another one of the reasons I have them as 3rd in the West.

AU's defense will be much improved and much like 2010 they have majority home games, which is an advantage. But its their offense, I don't really picture a scat back, uncertain QB, 1 TE ,and 1 WR dominating SEC defenses........
