Foster is 2 for 3 from 40 to 49 yards, and 0 for 4 over 50. He can't kick a 50 yarder. Shelley is 12 for 13 under 40 and 0 for 2 over 40. He can't kick a 41 yarder.

eleven, at any point during the game did you think Saban and Co. should have tried pinning LSU deep with a punt instead of attempting another long field goal?

i was conflicted the whole time. on one hand, i figured our chances were slim at such long distances. on the other hand, i figured our defense could handle LSU taking over in good field position and that we needed to try to put points on the board any time we could. the longer i ponder however, i think perhaps we should have tried to pin them deep and hope for either a turnover or to benefit from the change in field position. after all, LSU did have their way all night with field position.

i want your thoughts on the decisions to keep trying long field goals.

Yes, I thought we should've punted at least one but I wasn't really convinced. At least once, I was in the stands and my buddy is giving me grief for saying punt it. He didn't think the potential change in field position was enough to lose a scoring opportunity. We were 2 for 5 in regulation (the OT attempt was desperation) and I was really only convinced once we shouldn't have kicked.

It's all hindsight, but I believe the biggest mistake in our FG attempts was not letting Foster kick the long one that Shelley had blocked - I can understand Saban had lost confidence in Foster, but that one was beyond Shelley's ability.

embarrassed by other fans....what rock have you been hiding under?

every fan base has them.

Indeed, it happens everywhere. Yelling "roll tide" was a bit much but we all have them.

Big home game at night against a budding rival and the party atmosphere it was a recipe for disaster.

But, let me remind you this was LSU week. I have personally witnessed their fans throwing urine-soaked Nerf balls at people on your campus.
