Obviously I have a slight slant because I do believe that, consistantly, the #2 or even #3 team is much better than some conferences #1 team on a given year. Any year that it's a big East team. Lately, most years for the ACC. If you maintain that it must be for conference champs only, then what is you true goal for a "Plus One", because it can't be for picking the 4 best teams in the country.

The people who are wanting conference champions only are simply trying to keep the SEC from dominating it. I think it should be the top 4 teams period.

I'm surprised we haven't heard a thing from the ND camp as well—on anything. Did they give up comments for Lent and I just missed the announcement?

Must have Terry!! Unless they are looking to move their football program into a BCS conference and give up all of that NBC TV money, they had better wake up and realize that their program doesn't carry the weight like it did 30 years ago!!

You generally won't hear from them much - behind the scenes. When they start airing in the court of public opinion, that will be an indication their grip on college football has loosened. I look forward to that day.

If they continue with that Tim, they'll likely find themselves like the Big East finds themselves now.

The BE was quiet when all the movement was starting to happen in the early and mid 90's in football. They concentrated on basketball and figured the football could, and would, come later. Hell, they turned down the option of offering membership to Penn State which would have made a HUGE difference in how that conference is perceived today.

I wonder if they realize change is coming, whether they like it or not and they are willing to just sit back and find out where they land? I'd hope not, but they'd best start getting proactive or they'll be also-rans playing in Conf. USA.
