USF linebacker Kion Wilson is once again mourning the loss of an older brother. This is the second time in three months that an older sibling of the senior from Miami has been killed by shooting. This from the report in the St. Pete Times:
āDarius Wilson, 29, died Sunday from complications resulting from a gunshot wound to his upper right leg, according to the Miami-Dade County Medical Examinerās Office. Miami-Dade Police are investigating his death as a homicide, and have not released details about the shooting, though the address listed is a North Miami nightclub.
In March, Darius Wilson was among those who stood up and spoke at the funeral of his brother, Kellon āHerbieā Wilson, 24, who was fatally shot in Miami Gardens. One man has been charged with first-degree murder in that shooting, and a woman charged as an accessory after the fact.ā
Wilson started 11 games last season for the Bulls and finished third on the team with 66 tackles. Last fall he provided this chilling quote when talking about the violent surrounds of his youth.
āI donāt have any friends in Miami. Everyone is either incarcerated or passed on.ā
Coach Jim Leavitt has cancelled an appearance at a scholarship fundraiser to attend Wilsonās funeral.
