šŸˆ Should Demarco Hellams start over Daniel Wright?

When he comes in relief for Weight, he always seems to do a good job. Gets to the ball quickly and plays fundamentally sound, and tackles well. Wright can be inconsistent and often takes high risks, going for picks on throws he probably shouldn't, this has resulted in him getting burned quite a bit.

Hellams added another solid night with 8 tackles last night and has a high ceiling. Think the competition for first team reps is heating up between these two? D seems to perform better statistically when Hellams is in.

Wright has improved as the season has gone on. As OldPlayer is pointing out it is not always the root cause we see with our eyes. Maybe Wright did exactly what the call he received requested that he do but the right call did not get to him. On the screen it looks like a bust by Wright. No idea if this is the case but the coaches know. I will trust what they are seeing in practice. Now if Hellams performs when he gets in the game it certainly gives the staff another data point to consider.

According to Coach Saban, Jobe was designated for the corner blitz. LSU changed formations & sideline called the blitz off. The message never got to Jobe & he blitzed leaving the receiver free. Apparently Wright took the back out of the backfield (which must have been his assignment because coach didn't go bat shit).

Just as OldPlayer stated.
