🏈 Should Clemson erect another tombstone? This one for their playoff chances?

Daboo caught lightening in a bottle with some elite talent for a few years but now he is done.
I'd say it was when his original coordinators left: he still has talent there. (I'm selling Klubnick more cheaply this morning than I was yesterday and he was about to go to the clearance aisle then.) At least I can say I started saying they are going downhill at the point his original offensive coordinator and QB coach left.

(As it ends up, Venables can buy an offense.)

In 2016 and 2018 Dabo hit the lottery with two generational QB’s, elite d-lines and a really good set of Offensive Co-Coordinators and really good Defensive staffs. The fact they beat Saban twice to win those NC’s tells me Clemson had elite talent and really good coaching. Since then Clemson hasn’t had generational talent at QB or coordinators other programs are banging down the door to hire as head coaches. Dabo could have mitigated some of the lack of elite high school talent* at critical positions but he chose not utilize the transfer portal. *Clemson’s still landing elite defensive line recruits but they’re not being coached up well. Great coaching and good but not elite talent can win championships. The same’s not true with elite players and average coaching. None of what’s happening with Dabo and Clemson breaks my heart.

I think that's realistic. But we will know what they are made of in 2 weeks l...

Dont think there is any way to project till on the road vs uga
I think we do know. What we do not know is how much have they truthfully corrected. My guess is not enough as I still see issues at the line of scrimmage that do not matter against inferior opponents. It will matter in several SEC games.
