You guys and gals in the Birmingham area are more than welcome to attend! @sk33tr, I hope you're going to make it.

@sk33tr have you ever heard Pitts speak? I'm curious, if you have, if you can tell a difference in his cognitive abilities.

An interesting question to him would be asking how much of the blame of concussions falls on how kids are being taught to play in developmental football.

Good, sk33tr. I'll see you then.

Is the flyer not showing up for you? I saw it when I posted this,[BCOLOR=#ffff00] and now I don't see it.[/BCOLOR]
It's not in a .jpg, .gif, or .png format.

Good question on the developmental football. Many of the youth league coaches have no idea about correct tackling techniques. Judging from what shows up in colleges, there are high school coaches who don't teach good technique as well.

I'm not in that pic. Just to the right of it...Gracie must have been in the back corner. This pic was taken after all the other players, G-Mac, Darwin Holt, Mike Pitts, Jeremiah Castille, Kevin Lee, and Tyler Watts, had spoken. I took a lot of notes and a few pics too. I'm about to go help build a set most of the day. I'll post it all when I get back.

wish i could have been there.

i was so sick the day before and had to work early yesterday morning so i still wasn't 100%. plus i didn't have the funds to pay the cover.

i would have loved to have gotten Jeremiah's autograph. i've met him a couple times when i worked in hoover and he is just the nicest person you'd ever want to meet (his wife, as well).

@bama alum What was Greg's answer to the question about why he picked LSU? I've seen more than a handful of people upset about the pick.

Sorry, it was a long day yesterday...

These are comments G-Mac made about LSWho? and the team in general:

  • He defended his LSU remarks by commenting how tough it is to win there. He tried to back track a bit by reminding us that we lost there in '11 but still won the championship.
  • He says the 2009 team overachieved. This year's team is just stacked top to bottom; like the rest of us, he certainly expects Bama to be in Atlanta to play for the SEC.
  • The position he is most concerned about is CB. Eddie Jackson's ACL recovery is really going to put a strain on that unit. He's not too high on either Sylve or (esp.) Cyrus Jones. He thinks both Brown and Humphrey could be starters soon.
  • Coker will be just fine. Too many weapons. Wealthiest we've ever been at RB. Great receiving corps, too.
  • Thinks left OT is a concern, but that Cam will be okay. He didn't mention Dominick Jackson...
  • On Defense: Hand will be an impact player soon. The DL is the strength of the defense; he is really excited that Bo Davis is back in Tuscaloosa. Because of the immense depth Davis has this year, he is going with a more pin your ears back and go approach. Depth is a great plus!
  • LB: He didn't vote for Depriest on the All-SEC team. He likes him, but he's no CJ Moseley. He's really concerned about the loss of CJ because of his innate ability to read the play before it happened. Example was he knew the Bo Wallace run-up-the-middle calls instantly and was able to quickly adjust the defense before the snap. G-Mac doesn't feel that Depriest has that capability. He then claimed that CJ's loss is bigger than AJ's loss.
  • DB: Talent level is suspect, but the front seven should be able to accommodate that.
  • Again, he thinks Bama will win the west but will lose to LSWho? He really thinks Saban wants that teachable moment. You could hear a pin drop when he said that.
  • The barn will lose twice, both on the road at Jawja and Bama. Ole Siss will finish in third, losing to Bama, barn, and Ms. St. He thinks Bo Wallace will be so pumped up to play that game that he'll throw costly interceptions.
  • While talking about South Carolina, Greg compared Connor Shaw to Tyler Watts.
  • Someone asked him if he would one day like to be the head coach at Bama. He laughed and said that would be a dream job. He also said that college coaching drains too much time away from family, so he does not want to pursue that yet. He really wants to coach high school ball one day soon.
  • To combat the HUNH, Kirby Smart is going to use a field boundary defense.

I'm not going to post all the pics I took, just a couple.

Coach Quennville and I. We have a really good hockey coach!

This is G-Mac and Darwin Holt, who played LB for Coach Bryant at both tamu and Bama. You see a difference in how the recruiting game has evolved? :)

I'm still waiting on the pic of G-Mac and me to come in. A friend of a friend took the pic with a better camera.
