To be honest, I've been exceedingly giddy over the Jeremy Pruitt hire for a while now. I know his strength as a player and position coach has been as a DB coach. But lately, safety has been downsized for speed and cover skills this past season and I thought Bama really hit on something. I think I have just taken for granted this will continue to be the new philosophy going forward.

Pruitt, I'm sure, is giving everyone the once over and who knows how his personally rubs Burgess-Becker. But I've also been wondering how we are going to get all the talent and speed we've been recruiting at DB on the field. I guess we'll see.

I hope for a lot more. Seminoles run to the NC was more my yardstick than Georgia. But nobody could pass on us in our 2011 campaign. Of course, no one could run either.

Seeing a path, and the willingness to actually walk that path, two different things.

I'm left with the impression both sides felt it was the best move.

I thought Saban gave him a few "SBB is one of the freshman who is picking things up quickly" type of compliments... Wasn't he playing legit snaps on special teams? Thats usually a good sign for freshman.

Hey I agree with the willingness to walk the path... But then again, none of us know what the coach who recruited him told him throughout the process and/or what he was led to believe.

Easy for us to say wait your turn while UA is signinng 5 4-5 star DB's every class... There are some very talented kids that do things right and never see the field. It's all hypothetical now though

I saw somewhere where he was given his full release to go anywhere - and E Evans from RBR took that to mean that there may be more than meets the eye here? Implying that perhaps he was shown the door in a polite way? Who knows....

I saw that his was given his release. Based on past players, I don't think it will be a full release to go anywhere. There will be restrictions.
