Not headline news plus I’m not much of a story-teller but here goes.
I went the dentist today for a regular cleaning. The Dental Hyginest (Pam) was new to the office but looked familiar. As time went on we talked and realized we went to same high school enough years apart to not know each other but as it turns out I knew her husband. She kept talking about ā€œShankā€ living with her son (Chris). Well Chris is a coach at Davidson High School near Mobile and would carry one of the players, named ā€œShankā€, home from practice each day to a not so good home-life. Chris offered help to Shank if ever needed. Home life did get so bad one night that Shank cried out for help and ask to get him out that place. Chris picked him up and Shank never returned to his old home. In fact his new home became living with Chris. Pam said, Shank’s life, acedemics and athletic goals improved. Scholorship offers flew his way and now plays for the ā€œUniversityā€.
I said, ā€œSouth Alabamaā€? She said no, ā€œThe Universityā€. Of course my next question was who is Shank? Alphonse Taylor
Chris gets parent treatment and Pam and her husband get Grandparent privilages! Pam is the odd-ball here for she is for that other in-state school that we intend to dominate each year. Pam gets a kick out of introducing him as her grandson.

I hate dentist. But, I hate anything that keeps me sitting still for a period of time. I'm a story teller, but I'll spare you details! :tennis:

Between Alphonse and Darren Lake, the way we'll "look" in the middle in two years is going to be...well, B.I.G.

The last I heard he was slimming down quite a bit. Not the massive weight loss we saw with Cody, but dropped some weight to get in that 310-315 area.

It's a good story Obie. For a lot of reasons but especially this one. An Auburn fan saying, "The University." I guess we can add another to the ranks of the informed/learned.
