šŸˆ SENIOR BOWL: Saban in no hurry to fill coaching spot

I really haven't had any time to make any calls on this. However, I just started...let's see.

Honestly, it's no big deal. I have no worries at all.

I'll tell ya this. Don't pay attn. to rumors or insinuations on the 'net right now. Honestly, no one knows what he's thinking. Saban's statement over dinner the other night to a friend of mine. "I'm recruiting."

He asked, "Coaches or players."

Terry giggled...

'bout all I can say at this point

There's an intra-SEC mix in this selection.

Think Mobile and Insurance...it's one possibility but I don't like it. However, I'm not Sabn

One name I saw was Tee Martin which really surprised me. Seems like he did a good job with Randall Cobb over there at Kentucky.

There are legs to that story. It was Tee I was referring to in the post just above yours 37. As bad as this may sound in our PC world, Saban does like the idea of having a young, African-American to recruit the Mobile area. Tee fits that bill to a "T."

Tee Martin evokes memories of another UT guy who coached for us in basketball. Tyrone Beaman http://www.coachbeaman.com/Bio.php

His bio lists his time at Alabama, but conveniently doesn't mentioned that we fired him after he tried to get alumni help in buying a player. Even though he was the only person engaged in wrongdoing the NCAA hit us with a violation that contributed to the severity of the penalties for the DuBose era violations.

I'll bow to the judgment of CNS if he does hire T, but I would be very uneasy about it.

Ditto goes for me.

I can think of 1 former Bama Star wide out we owe a lot to. He laid it all on the line for us and payed a hefty price in doing so.
And i KNOW he's itching to get into coaching, we could get him at a good price and would find few as crimson blooded
or as loyal to Bama as he is. I'd like to see him get a shot @ it. I belive he could do it & do it well.

But i'm betting there no chance in Hell of Tyrone getting the job. :-(
