If power in college football is about money, and
If money comes from the T.V. deals, and
If T.V. deals come from fielding a better product,
Then I propose the following.

Identify our biggest challenger (BIG10) and their biggest threat for the #2 spot (BIG12) and partner with that #3. (i.e Partner with the BIG12 to hoard T.V. games).

Clearly we are already dominating the post season, so don't mess with that. The regular season is the same. This leave the beginning.

Create a Kick Off series where our 12 teams play their 12 teams. This in and of itself will be the biggest story of that week, thus draw the T.V. viewers.

Now go a step further. Draw more money by using neutral sites where possible. Dallas, Atlanta, New Orleans, Orlando, Nashville, Kansas City, Jacksonville, St. Louis, Houston. This not only draws additional outside funds, sells "the Product" to new markets, but also creates yet another Bowl-like atmosphere.

This strengthens both the SEC and BIG12, leaving the Big 10 (#2) with a best case response of pairing with the #4. #1 and #3 vs. #2 and #4...I'll take that every day of the week.

Any thoughts?
