The Crimson Tide would also appreciate South Carolina duplicating its 3-for-30 first-half shooting numbers from that game.)

Let’s just assume Alabama will pull the mild upset and get past South Carolina. That would probably put UA up against Kentucky – the “probably” is there because Georgia has been a tough matchup for UK this season, playing the Wildcats to the final minute and beyond (in one overtime loss) in both meetings. If the opponent were to be Georgia, Alabama would have a chance as it showed by winning in Athens. If it’s Kentucky, well…

“Their defense really caused us problems offensively the entire game,” Mississippi State coach Ben Howland said. “We struggled to score. They are the best defensive team in the league when you look at the percentages, the rebounding margin, and it really showed today.”

Mississippi State shot 39 percent from the field, including a paltry 2 of 12 from 3-point range.

Yes, we can, they ain't Kentucky. Braxton Key is going to have to score in this one, plus he and others have to check Thornwell somehow. We need to get out of the gate fast and play hard.

I see a lot refer back to the first meeting. I don't see how U of SC gets 50+ FT's like they did earlier this year. I don't see AJ Jr getting 20+ either.

It's my view they need Ingram and Key to provide those points they got from AJ.

AJ less likely for sure. Braxton is as close to a marquee player as we have on this squad. But that potential won't be tapped as a freshman. It's gonna take another committee effort to slay the Gamecocks. Cecil Hurt put it best:
