SEC: Questions to be Answered in ‘09 - Eastern Division

With the 2008 football season in the rear-view mirror, avid SEC football fans are already looking forward to September when the SEC conference football teams begin their conference schedules.

2008 represented another successful year for the SEC. With four team finishing in the top 15 in the AP poll, it marked the 13th year in the last quarter of a century teams from the SEC enjoyed success on a national scale.

There were a host of questions leading into the ‘08 season.

Would the Spurrier led Gamecocks finally scratch the upper echeleon of the teams in the Eastern division?

Would this be Fulmer’s last season at the helm of the Volunteer program?

Would Tebow repeat as the Heisman trophy winner?

Now, going into 2009 with the majority of those questions answered, there are several questions that will be the subjects of discussion over this off-season.

Read the rest here

1- i am tempted to say uf wins the next nc but at the same time it's such a hard thing to do i'll say no.

2- colt mccoy is the guy i think will get the nod for the heisman

3- hate to say it for steve spurrier. but if this isn't his last year, next year will be.

my question is how this will effect the gamecock fans. with holtz they had their winner and they'd win the sec and be there for the nc.

with spurrier they'd win the sec and be...

see what i mean? is it safe to say you can't win nationally at south carolina

4- how long has it been since georgia won the sec? i'd have to look. it sure seems like it may be twenty years. that can't sit well with what uf is doing.

5- ut has only recruited 7 lineman on offense in the last three years? are you serious?

6- kentucky may surprise a few. vandy probably is on the cut line for a bowl bid again.

is there a west preview coming?

2005, which is more recent than your last SEC championship.

(1) Surely a fan of a team with such a recent championship has better things to do than be hanging out reading an Alabama message board in March.

(2) Now run along and practice your Soulja Boy.

Watch out Big Fan, there might be another "Black Out".

Thanks for the read on the East, nice job guys.

I answered a question this question:

Last I checked the forum is open to any fan of any school, I have much respect for Alabama and yes the blackout last year was a disaster. Put down UGA all you like if it makes you feel better, I just simply answered a question.

We can't say much since the last time we won one DuBose was our HC and Spurrier was still at Florida. You're certainly welcome here at anytime.

Added a little touch of sarcasm to go with the answer...and I think you'll admit to that.

No big deal...

Hell, I had to think about the last time UGA won it myself. To be honest, the only thing I remembered about the '05 season was your game with W. Va. in the Sugar and then that led me to the SECC game against LSU.

Ended up with two SEC losses that year, didn't you? If I recall correctly, it was the Florida loss at South Carolina that put UGA in ATL - they had three losses in conference I think...

Geez, I have to go look...

Oh yeah, I remember that weekend well now that I look back at it.

UGA drops its second to Auburn leaving the door open for UF who couldn't close the deal in Columbia. The UGA just walked all over UK the following weekend...

I did, its all in fun if offends sorry. Yes South Carolina had beaten Florida earlier in the day. We played Auburn that night on ESPN, we had to beat Auburn to clinch or beat Kentucky the following weekend. I was flying back from Los Angeles during game time and missed it. The painful loss by 1 point to Auburn.

I rooted hard for you guys in this years SEC championship. No surprise to you guys since it was the Gators. Best of luck to you guys for the upcoming season. We will be a mystery.

Like I said, no big deal. Ol' Big Fan was just returning the favor...I'm sure he meant no harm.

I couldn't recall which game was the late game that day. But, I do recall the day clearly when I started looking back at it. We had an OT loss to LSU that day. However, it was the flyover for that game which will stick in my mind for the rest of my life.

Literally, scared the hell out of me those planes were so close.
