Record: 2-0 (1-0)
How can Alabama maintain this ranking after its loss to Texas A&M? How can ... wait, Alabama didn't lose? Sorry, I must have been listening to entirely too much talk radio since returning from College Station.

Record: 3-0 (0-0)
LSU has played cupcakes the past couple of weeks, and now it is tough to gauge if TCU was really that tough. But the Tigers sure look talented.

Record: 2-1 (1-0)
All is well in Mark Richt land again, as the Bulldogs can even withstand a loss to LSU and get back to Atlanta with his average coaching of great talent.

The Aggies are atop this week's Moral Victory Power Poll because of all the yardage they amassed in their game against Alabama.

Record: 2-1 (1-1)
Honestly, I am not sure there is much left in South Carolina's season -- they aren't passing Georgia in the East -- except for figuring out a way to knock Clemson out of the BCS Championship Game. They should start preparing for that one now.

The good news? Florida had a week off to work on fixing its anemic offense. The bad news? The Gators didn't have a month off.

Record: 3-0 (1-0)
America wants to believe and, fair is fair, the Rebels have two good road wins on their resume. They face the acid test in two weeks, but clearly their improvement is no joke. Ask Mack Brown, an authority on jokes.

[TD="bgcolor: #CCCCCC"]Auburn Tigers
Record: 3-0 (1-0)
Doesn't the Auburn-LSU game seem a little like Alabama-Texas A&M Lite? A fast-paced spread offense against a physical power team. Now, Nick Marshall isn't remotely close to Johnny Football, and AU probably won't make this game entertaining, but isn't there a remote chance?

[TD="bgcolor: #CCCCCC"]Vanderbilt Commodores
Record: 1-2 (0-2)
The Commodores are a strange case, looking decent in defeat. (See Texas A&M above.) But the fact is that there isn't much difference in No. 9 and No. 14 in this poll and the Commodores (again) are not going to beat anyone that matters.

[TD="bgcolor: #CCCCCC"]Missouri Tigers
Record: 3-0 (0-0)
The Tigers and the team right below them, the Razorbacks, have won games against insignificant opposition so far but both have a chance or do a little incremental good for the SEC by winning road games (Mizzou at Indiana, Woo Pig Sooie at Rutgers) against BCS opposition. So they probably won't.

No, I don't think any non-elite SEC team could have fared much better against Oregon's high-speed offense. It will be interesting to see how they do against low-speed Florida.

[TD="bgcolor: #CCCCCC"]Kentucky Wildcats
Record: 1-1 (0-0)
The Wildcats actually held their own for a while against Louisville. They rank higher than Alabama in NCAA total offense and total defense. (Stats do lie.) But there is probably only one win remaining on their schedule.

Agree on the LSU assessment, they have been under the radar after losing many from last years team. I'm not sure we'll find out much more after they play Auburn. Last year, Auburn was curb stomped by most everyone except LSU. LSU barely won this game.

Not sure I'd put Florida ahead of Ole Miss at this point either.
