LSU may get off to a slow start, but I think they still beat MSU.
Nationally, one less game may or may not affect bowl season. If - and I do mean IF, they were to win the SEC with a loss, they may feel the pain of having played only 11 regular season games. I don't know.

Yeah one would think that a virtually meaningless tune up game wouldn't matter by year end but you never know

I saw that in the new polls LSU's non-game counted for more than OM beat down of a non team.

It's a four hour bus ride back and forth. At $500,000 it certainly doesn't seem to me to be that much of an inconvenience.

I think this does shed light on a bigger story: there should be contingency plans in place for all games like this. I can understand canceling a game for a hurricane. But, for a storm coming through at game time ... certainly seems to me the NCAA needs to have something in place for circumstances like this one. Games shouldn't just be "lost."

What's worse is that is happened to Florida just one year ago.... and they didn't think to have a contingency plan in place after that.

I didn't have LSU winning the west or much less the SEC with a playoff birth, so in my eyes the 11 game schedule won't hurt them too much, especially since it wasn't a high quality OOC team. I think it's more of a problem in that they needed to break in a new QB, and instead that QB is getting his first start on the road against a good SEC team.

I still don't expect them to lose to MSU, but it won't be pretty. And then they get auburn next week... no time to learn the position, sink or swim time for the Who.

Thunderstorms in late summer/early fall are not a new development in the south. Someone needs to get their head out of their ass and make plans for such occurrences. They are happening on a regular basis.

They lack a proven back. The kid they played the most, Shumpert, isn't anywhere near the power runner that Robinson was

One possible, but not likely impact. I believe that the NCAA still requires a non losing record for post season eligibility. Their three remaining non conference games are gimmee type wins, but it is not inconceivable that they go 2-6 in SEC play, thus finishing 5-6 and spending the winter holidays in beautiful Baton Rouge.

Suppose weather like they had happened for an SEC game. What then?
