Marcus Spears (LSU) lives in the area, I've seen him around town a few times. He's gone fishing with a friend of mine, he's a outdoor guy big time. He is huge too btw, shoulders are huge and a really nice guy. I've seen him twice in the last 2-3 months at a restaurant. Guess he's officially retired from football, he was cut by the Cowboys a few years ago then played at the Ravens last year.

The SEC Nation broadcast crew.

The SEC Network’s traveling pregame show on fall Saturdays will be called SEC Nation and be broadcast from a different conference campus each week.

It will be at South Carolina for the opener on Aug. 28 (a Thursday) and then the first Saturday will be at Auburn. The show will broadcast from Tuscaloosa on Sept. 20.

The host will be Joe Tessitore and analyst Tim Tebow. Radio personality Paul Finebaum and former NFL star Marcus Spears will be part of the broadcast.

Saturdays 9-11am, gonna be tough to pull viewers away from GameDay if you ask me. I'll give it a shot (assuming DirecTV gets SECN) for a while to see how deep they go into the SEC games (but I do like the GameDay product). Pretty much means that Finebaum won't be on GameDay anymore either.

Didn't AT&T/Uverse buy DirecTV? I thought that pretty much guaranteed that DirecTV would be getting it.

The merger will take up to 12 months to be finalized according to the 8K filing...I don't think the merger will be completed prior to the debut of the SECN.

There is still plenty of time for negotiations to happen, just saying that the merger won't be completed prior to the launch of SECN.
