🏈 Season Ticket Blues

So, year before last I had season tickets. It wasn't hard to obtain, and the price was what I expected. Last year I didn't get season tickets. I simply bought tickets to the games I wanted to attend. This year, I had a hard time finding the season tickets online, so I called the ticket office in Tuscaloosa. They informed me there is now an 8 YEAR waiting list on season tickets, but that I could move myself up in the line by participating in their donation program. Seriously? Wow.... Color me disappointed.

So, I know everyone's thinking it, but I'll be the one to say it: VolBuster, are you kidding me?? Did you really think that you could get off season tickets one year and just sign back up two years later?? I just had no idea people weren't totally aware of the season ticket situation... But thanks a lot tho, I just got back on season tickets last season after cancelling them in the mid 90s b/c of the children-- You're a lifesaver!!

I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing at that...after an expansion putting us over 100K...and still that kind of waiting list.

THIS is Alabama football.

There is the TIDEPRIDE Season Ticket program where donations paid for the honor of buying season tickets will for to the academic side of the University.

There is another organization, the FOUNDATION, where donations got to the academic side of the University.

Among the seats that will be regulated long term within the TIDEPRIDE program there are some seat that the FOUNDATION has control over. That is to say, to get to these TIDEPRIDE seats one has to go through the FOUNDATION.

The FOUNDATION, for a one-time donation numbering in the thousands of dollars, will in effect give you head-of-line rights to join TIDEPRIDE and get season tickets immediately.

Year one you pay out the nose, but you get season tickets 8-Years sooner? 7 games a season times 8 years is a lot of games to spread out the that one-time, tax deductable donation to the Athletic department.

The only blues I have are The Zone blues. I couldn't get a Zone seat in either end zone during the initial offering. I "heard" if you offered $10,000 cash per seat you could get them now on the spot. I got someone that would split two seats with me, but when I asked it's more like $25,000 a seat to get them on the spot.

So there begins my Zone blues.

Once you get a hold of them, you NEVER let them go. I almost made that mistake when we were in the beginning of the Shula era. I had been a season ticket holder since the day I graduated and then I dropped them during Shula's 2nd season. I had to fight like hell to get them back. I got them and now, like the old slogan goes; "You'll have to pry them from my cold dead hands to get them away!"

i was actually on the list at one point but never got my ticket package one year and got bumped off somehow but the ticket office would never give me an explanation of what happened, now i end up buying off ebay each year and waiting my turn again

I always told myself I should have ordered more back in the Shula days. Thing is, I knew it. I just didn't follow through. I was lucky enough to get a call right before VaTech game here in ATL. I was able to get two more tickets. Up side, I have 4 tickets to each home game. Down side, they're not together. Best I can do now.
