Everyone keeps saying Venables will be a head coach one day and they’ve been saying it for years. Though, I’m not so sure he wants to be one. He certainly won’t leave Clemson while his sons are on the roster. He’s paid more than many head coaches, he absolutely loves where he’s at and he and Dabo are extremely close friends. I think he sees himself as a Bud Foster type of guy ... well respected, not nearly under the same pressure as a head coach and making very good money.

Agree on Venables. He may not want to be a HC that bad. He’s got it made there with Dabo. Has cranked out some stud players to the League and outs a very strong team on the defensive side of the ball. If he was HV material and really wanted that, I think he would have already been gone. But just my opinion. Either way, Dabo has benefited from his staying tremendously.
