Cool story . Thanks for posting.

My Paw Paw was in WW 2 , he fought the Germans not the Japanese. He never would talk about the war when he was alive , said they army told them not to .. but my mom gave him one of those old battery operated cassette players with record and asked him if he would consider doing that . And after he passed my mom found the recorder and about three tapes with stories from growing up on a farm to basic training to helping free Jews from a prison camp ... some of it I would have rather not heard .

But I thought it was cool that when he got to come home the train conductor stopped the train in the middle of the woods just so my paw paw could hop off and just walk home from the tracks that are only like 3 miles from his farm as opposed to 20 or 30 from town .
