Here is the link. We're even ranked #4 in the "Predictor" which is supposedly the most "real."

Bama, Auburn, LSU, and Arky are ALL in the top 10 and have all played six Top 30 schools - we have the worst record in those games at 3-3 (although each of those schools had a bye week before playing us), AU is 6-0 and LSU and Arky are both 4-2. USCe is #17 and has played five Top 30s going 2-3. Michigan State is ranked number #20 with a Predictor ranking of #34.

What this tells me is that, while none of us are happy with our 9-3 finish, we did have one helluva tough schedule and when you take into account the bye weeks for the other teams and our youth... Well, maybe we didn't do quite as badly as it appears on the surface.

While I dont keep up with every schools schedule every year....I think its safe to say that this years schedule was as brutal as any ive seen.....taking into account the away opponents and bye weeks of the SEC competition.

I've come to the conclusion that we not only did we receive the most difficult schedule, but that it's probably to be expected considering how well we played during 2008 and 2009. Not that it's fair, but it was justified as fair to the people at the SEC and the school presidents who were implicated in fixing and then not changing the schedule to better suit Alabama in the interest of fairness. Let's also not forget how much hatred around the conference is spewed at Bama and it's head coach. Coach Saban is vilified at every other institution around the league. I thought 9-3 would be the most likely outcome, and 10-2 being a best bet. I thought the losses would be Arkansas, South Carolina, and LSU. Three very difficult road trips.

I felt confident we'd win our 3rd in a row over Auburn. That's before I knew they were an NFL minor league team. My bad.

Very nicely said. very nice.

And also, a lot of people do get very angry at the computers and they're rankings b/c they think the eye test is so much more trustworthy, but IMO, the rankings do give a very accurate depiction of college football that humans can't give. The computers are the only ones that can really look at the ENTIRE body of work of each college football team and compare it to others-- so I'm happy to find out that this computer gives us the credit that that we probably deserve. Thanks for posting!

Impressive forecasting. It is to be expected to a degree when you have a bull's eye on your back. The byes were simply ridiculous, however, and while next year is improved it is still lopsided.
