🏈 Saban Rumors...Again?!? When does this ever get old??

Lets put some odds on this.

I just read that Paul Johnson might be going to FL. Also Heard Jimbo Fisher is considering BAMA if Saban moves to TX, and Steve Spurrier will move to GA when Mark Richt is let go, so he can have another reason to kick FL A$$. Kevin Sumlin goes to USC and the ducks hire Phil Nike. Oh wait he already owns that team.

Reality check. What coach has achieved greatness after he has left Alabama? Alabama is the number one program in the country because of it's rich tradition. Coach Saban had all of that when he came here. He has grown that tradition. That would be a harder challenge than taking on the Texas Program. If he wanted to be with a program like Texas even if he won the NC every year, it would take him 12 years to equal the number of championships BAMA has won. I have lived in Texas. College Football is not as important there. They have 2 Pro Teams, 1 Pro Baseball team, 3 Pro Basketball teams, and about 6 or 8 NCAA Teams. Most of them do not leave the state to recruit. I just don't see that as a great destination for a winner like Saban.

My two cents.

At some point he is going to leave, whether it be to retire or take on a new challenge. When it happens, I only hope he does it the right way and talks to the team first. If he does that, I will be thankful for everything he has done for my school and move on. Do I want him to go? Of course not! I hope he chooses to stay for a long time, but change is inevitable. RTR.

AllieBama, I agree that change is inevitable and that change could mean Saban will advance his dynasty at BAMA. He could be the all time win-ingest coach of all time at BAMA. That will never happen at Texas. I know you may think that I have a Pollyanna attitude, however we have the absolute best college record in the nation. He owns that for the recent years. Why would he even want to throw that away. Look at coaches like the Bear, and Bowden. He is in that league. If he goes away I will also be grateful for what he has done. BAMA is the perfect place for his style. Austin will not be a place that he will like. I lived there and there are too many Big Fish that want to run the show.

With as much pub this topic has gotten, it's not even something that crosses my radar until I hear or read about it. I'm not worried in the bit about it. If he leaves, he leaves...nothing we can do about it.

Main reason why it doesn't cross my mind: I don't see any reason that he would think that Texas would be a better situation for him than Alabama.
