šŸˆ Saban Rumors...Again?!? When does this ever get old??

They're never happy unless they're stirring the pot. If he leaves he leaves. I'm very thankful that he brought Alabama back to relevance in football and the work he has done to bring the resources he has helped bring to the other Alabama sports.

And if he leaves that just means Kirby Smart becomes our head coach....

You gotta think that someone with Tx is keeping it going. The next rumor out of Austin will be... Jesus soon to be named HC!... Their arrogance is mind numbing.

Okay you're not gonna convince me that it just so happens everytime a big game is coming up these rumors start up again. This is getting ridiculous.

When facing the facts you're not convinced?

Look at the time-frame of these stories coupled with the events.

TX loses to Ole Miss early this season. As Bama comes off a win against A&M and is a bit over a week away from playing Ole Miss we see the story about the agent/BOR contact in January.

We come on what is one of the biggest weeks of our season—the "Third Saturday in October." Now we see stories about house hunting in Austin while rehashing a story from January.

Now, before the LSU game, we see the AP rehashing the same story told twice this fall—no telling how many times this year.

There are some legitimate questions to be asked right now but none I can see that need directing at Saban.

Here's one as example.

Is a BOR member at TX lacking that much foresight that he didn't consider his emails were under the FOIA? Or, was he fully aware that his email falls under that Act and proceeded anyway?

Okay, maybe that's two questions.

BTW, just for further consideration...before people start worrying about distractions don't forget 1) Fluker before A&M or 2) Ha-Ha before Ole Miss.

Are you still willing to assume, or suggest, the timing is pure coincidence?

The parts of this story that are hard to reconcile are, on the one hand, Nick Saban's frequent and recent statements indicating that he is happy at Alabama and, on the other hand, Sexton's behavior in apparently shopping Nick Saban around - one has to assume with Saban's knowledge and consent - to Texas as a candidate for Mack Brown's job. You would think that the negative PR from Saban's Miami departure, coupled with his 60 Minutes comments expressing regret over his handling of same, would serve as a sufficient deterrent to future such actions.

Perhaps the special pressure is the fact that he's peaked with Bama (on the verge of four Nationals in five years, please open the history books) and that expectations for the future are unrealistic to maintain year after year. That would certainly create pressure.

Or perhaps he feels that "he came, he built, he conquered" and his work is done, time to do the same for another team in need of a dynasty? Pick your ole saying...

The peak has been reached, time to find another challenging slope.
Time to go out on top.
Bama is conquered ground, time to pick up arms for another struggling territory.

Just thrown out possibilities.

Well, as my coworkers are apt to remind me, Saban said the same stuff about Miami too: "I am going to make this perfectly clear one more time. I am not going to take the coaching job at Alabama" .. You have to think Saban would not have just LET his agent go around making comments like he did yesterday, you know? But of course, the timing is suspect as always.

As long as Coach Saban is here we will continue to hear this. It will never go away. It doesn't even bother me anymore. At least now he has stayed at Alabama longer than any other program. When it comes down to it, he will have the same amount of pressure at Texas as he does here, it all depends on if he wants to start over, or keep building. Either way he will have pressure. I dont see pressure being the reason he leaves. It would be the challenge to rebuild that would drive this man. It's not like there aren't any coaches out there that can be successful at Bama if he does decide to leave, or for that matter line up to coach here. I just can't let myself be worried over this.

Texas would be logical. All the elements are there: money, alumni and fan base, recruiting base. Great place for one final run.

Much less pressure to build than maintain.

Que Sera Sera.

Alabama is Alabama. It is not the University of Nick Saban. Next fall and the following, as I have done for my entire life, you'll find me cheering for the Alabama Crimson Tide. My team won national championships before Nick Saban came to town, and my team will win after he's gone. Did I mention Alabama is the number one team in the whole country? Roll Tide.

I would like very much for Nick Saban to win the 2013 national title for Alabama so that we can have our historic three-peat. If, after that, he feels that he has accomplished all that he can in Tuscaloosa, then I would wish him the best in his next adventure and remain grateful that he was ever our coach.

Exactly, I mean there is no reason for people to get angry, or make like Alabama cant move on. Coach Saban has done one heck of a job here, I would hate to lose him, but it aint the end of the world. I would wish him well also, and look forward, as always, to the next chapter in Bama Football.

Uhhhh Terry you might wanna re-read what I was saying... I was saying you aren't going to convince me that it IS a coincidence.
