🏈 SABAN NOT HAPPY AT BAMA? LAST SEASON

There will be a different football coach at Alabama. That coach, or some coach after them, will win the National Championship at some point.

I'd love to see Saban stay until he decides he's won enough championships. Personally, I've grown to appreciate him. I'm proud he coaches the team I love. But those people who think they can get under my skin by saying Saban is leaving don't realize that while he will retire one day, Alabama will still be Alabama. That's a tough pill for our rivals to swallow.

It either infuriates or amazes folks when they ask me about him leaving and I tell them if he sneaks away in the middle of the night I would have nothing but appreciation and wish him the best. He has done more than was ever expected of him and that is that. You are so right, Alabama will still be Alabama. It was bigger than Coach Bryant (for all he did), it was bigger than Mike Price (for how little he did) and it will be bigger than whoever takes the reins after Coach Saban. I am a fan of The University of Alabama, not the coach, no matter how great or poor that coach may be.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I grew up watching my Daddy listen to Alabama football, in his lawn chair, sipping sweet tea, while I cut the frickin' grass. When that was done I would join him and listen also. My point is, I idolized the Bear and cried like a baby when he passed, but I was more in love with Alabama football no matter who the coach was. I will be until they put me in the ground.

I really was born too late .. I always wish I had been alive for the Bear .. Even as a kid, before I got obsessed with the Tide, I felt like I knew the man from how my dad spoke of him.

Agree completely. I wasn't alive when Bear was coaching but my friends and family say this is nearly the same- every game you're favored and every season is championship or bust.

When Saban was first hired and we kept hearing the "He's going to leave you a few years" my answer was always the same: "That's fine. As long as he wins us some more games, maybe a championship, and puts Bama football back on the map, I'm good with a few years."

We'll season 9 approaches and he has done what we wanted tenfold. I wouldn't be upset in the least if he wanted to leave... hell I'd carry the bags for him if he asked.

I don't think he's the type to want to coach until he's 80, but he's not the type to sit on his ass when he's fully capable either. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I think he stays for another 3 or 4 years (or 2 more titles for the tie, whichever first )

like i have told a bunch of friends before, one of the smartest things Mal Moore ever did for Alabama football was having this built, hard for someone to leave I would think. I am not sure how many other college or pro coaches have a statue of them before they ever retire

JoePa had one.... had

I usually don't agree with making a memorial/statue/etc of someone while they are still on campus, but you may be right in that it makes it harder for him to leave.

Well, I heard some people talkin' just the other day
And they said you were gonna put me on a shelf
But let me tell you I got some news for you
And you'll soon find out it's true
And then you'll have to eat your lunch all by yourself
'Cause I'm already gone
And I'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song, woo, hoo, hoo, woo, hoo, hoo

The letter that you wrote me made me stop and wonder why
But I guess you felt like you had to set things right
Just remember this, my girl, when you look up in the sky
You can see the stars and still not see the light (that's right)

And I'm already gone
And I'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song, woo, hoo,hoo,woo, hoo,hoo

Well I know it wasn't you who held me down
Heaven knows it wasn't you who set me free
So often times it happens that we live our lives in chains
And we never even know we have the key

But me, I'm already gone
And I'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song
'Cause I'm already gone
Yes, I'm already gone
And I'm feelin' strong
I will sing this vict'ry song
'Cause I'm already gone
Yes, I'm already gone
Already gone
All right, nighty-night
Love them Eagles. Sorry @PhillyGirl the singers, not the "iggles".
