CNS now has 85 wins versus ranked opponent's. He's trailing the all time leader, Joe Pa, who has 86.

Saban now has 19 wins against top 15 teams. Tom Osborne leads the NCAA record books with 20.

Saban's 201 wins matches Georgia's Vince Dooley for third all-time in conference history behind Steve Spurrier (206) and Bear Bryant (292).

You don't think he's got another 10 years in him?
Three years ago he said he was planning on coaching another six to eight seasons. It's not a matter of "having it in him." I'm just going by what he said back then.

Who knows? He may stay around until he's 78, but I don't see that as a great possibility. That said, Solich is still going and I want to say he's in the 74-75 range and he's not in as good of shape as Saban (at least it doesn't appear that way.)

One of the risks that I have to manage for clients is longevity risk. Nobel prize winning economists William Sharpe has stated that longevity is ā€œnastiest, hardest problem in finance.ā€ It's a real issue for the boomer population. All that to say that folks are living longer but not only living longer their health isn't necessarily deteriorating like folks in the past. Coach Saban has absolutely shown the characteristics of someone who will be around a while.

I will not be surprised that he will be on the same coaching hierarchy as coach Wooden as well as health too. And 10 more years seems to be just about right. Now having a bunch more grandkids could change all that as far as his interest level is concerned. I'm more worried about our fan base turning on him similar to Bobby Bowden. We'll see.
