Here are some summarized comments from Coach Saban on this afternoon's scrimmage...
-Overall, the scrimmage was an improvement over last week's.
-The defense tackled better this today, didn't give up as many big plays, forced some turnovers, and made less mental errors.
-They played "ok" on offense, but did not dominate like they needed to along the offensive line. That could be contributed to led weariness.
-John Parker Wilson threw a couple on INT's, but also threw a couple of TD passes. He had a good day.
-Terry Grant and Matt Caddell both played well today.
-On defense, Wallace Gilberry stood out on defense getting a couple of sacks and getting pressure.
-There were no significant injuries resulting from the scrimmage.
-Jamie Christensen has a strained quad and is listed at day-to-day. Leigh Tiffin was the main kicker today and just missed a 57 yard FG in the scrimmage (it had the distance, but was a little to the right).
-Nose tackle Brian Motley did have surgery on his hand and will be out 5-7 days. Lorenzo Washington and Josh Chapman are getting more reps while he is out.
-The team will have 2 days off to try and get their legs back a little bit and recover both physically and mentally.
-They will continue to work on fundamentals on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, then start game preparation on Friday.
