🏈 Saban: Alabama RB Tyren Jones suspended indefinitely (Yahoo Sports)

Not sure what the offense was, but this kid can not seem to learn from his mistakes. Can't believe a kid with these God given talents can so stupidly throw them away. Damn, I did some stupid things as a teenager, but I managed to learn from them. I hope he gets his act together soon. Nick is not going to give him many more chances.

"Conduct not to the standard of Alabama football." I'd venture to guess that he is not going to class or meeting offseason workouts since he has not been arrested. Wake up dude! You are getting a FREE college education because you can play football. It's a privilege to be on the team and not a right.

Tyren Jones suspended

University of Alabama reserve running back Tyren Jones is once again the subject of disciplinary action at the hands of Nick Saban.

Jones, who recently completed his redshirt freshman season in 2014, was "indefinitely suspended for conduct not to the standard of the Alabama football program," Nick Saban said Tuesday in a statement released by the university. The statement did not indicate a reason for the suspension.

Jones was also suspended prior to the LSU game last October for undisclosed reasons.

He rushed for 224 yards and two touchdowns on 36 carries in 2014 and was expected to compete for increased playing time in 2015.

Jones was a part of the Crimson Tide's signing class that included four running backs. Jones and Derrick Henry are the only two that remain with the team. Alvin Kamara transferred at the 2013 season and Altee Tenpenny announced his intention to transfer in January.

With the departure of T.J. Yeldon, Henry is the most experienced returning back. Kenyan Drake also has experience and he will return following a season-ending injury that occurred in the fifth game of the season.

Alabama signed three freshman running backs in 2015 in Bo Scarbrough, DeSherrius Flowers and the nation's top-rated high school runner Damien Harris.

i didn't know he was already in the doghouse a bit. i sure liked the way he ran. too bad..... i think he would have gotten a lot of carries in 2015 had he kept his head on straight. pffft

Funny how, from the 30,000 foot level, it seems that Alabama is stacked at the RB position, but, on closer examination, that isn't quite the case. Nobody knows yet whether Drake can return to his pre-injury form, or even handle the number of carries that a #2 on the depth chart implies. As for Tyren Jones possibly stepping in to the 2 deep rotation - even apart from the Saban doghouse issues and the possibility of his transferring - we haven't seen a body of work from Jones yet that tells whether he can be anything close to a Yeldon substitute. As for the newly recruited 3, who knows which if any will see the field as a true freshman.
