So much in this play that's just crazy. I'll still go back to what I thought watching it happen live.
"The boy just took out his mouthpiece at the 10." The only thing that would have made that better would be that play happening in Athens and he's running right at their student section.
Bottom line. That was cold.
I saw 121 decibles.Watching live-live and then again on big video board behind me.
But.
The int in the end zone. I have been around a crowd going crazy. The bama crowd went....ballistic!!!! Maybe loudest i have ever heard a crowd My ears rang for an hour after. I hugged guy next to me .... didn't have a clue who he was!!!!!!
The wheel route I've mentioned a few times had me thinking about SA and his wheel route TD. After LSU, with SA as a Frosh, I didn't care that much he didn't block well.Hell, even that punt he hauled in over his shoulder... inside the 20... that's a, "no, no, NOOOOOOO!" play for anyone else, but he makes it look smooth.
Getting lost as a result of that incredible late go-ahead score TD grab and run by Ryan Williams was his equally as impressive catch (late in the 3rd) where he tipped the ball to himself, kept his balance, and hauled it in against Starks in coverage. I think @BamaFan334 has said before he hates the overuse of the word "elite" when it comes to describing players. I do as well in most cases. I'm just not sure how else to describe his abilities.

"Generational talent" is the one I can't stand, especially when they say that about ten kids in one class. Ryan Williams is very much elite.
Here's the thing.Ahh... that was it. Elite still gets overused, but yeah... the generational stuff does too.
Here's the thing.
27/33. That is elite.
RW's game? It was elite.
In my opinion.
I'm getting the sense we are seeing the classic "bait and switch." We really didn't see the running backs in the passing game until after we saw the deep threats. The TE's are going to come into play at some point. The kid even blocks pretty well for a guy that should still be playing of Friday nights in Mobile Co.
As for as his receiving skills, ability to make guys miss, get up field, etc...
He is averaging 28.9 yards per reception through 4 games. Half of that, 14.3 yards on average, comes after the catch. And really, they haven't gotten him the ball much in space... yet. He's just beating his coverage and making them eat grass clippings.

Williams was well covered on that TD pass. Ball just placed where only he could catch it and it took amazing body control to make that catch. That was impressive but the YAC was just as impressive. The kid even blocks pretty well for a guy that should still be playing of Friday nights in Mobile Co.
