Oh man guys I am sorry to say that it has been more than two months since my last post, but luckily nothing has really happened…JUST KIDDING! I didn’t have much time to blog because my teammate Kayla Braud and I were writing a blog for ESPNW about our journey to OKC. If you never saw these blogs, I’ll post links for them at the bottom

I can’t even begin to put into words what the final series was all about, but here it goes:

I had the privilege to room with Cassie during her final weekend wearing the Crimson and White jersey. Our seniors played a tremendous role in the team’s success. They all found a different way to lead, and I couldn’t be happier for them. I can’t really explain what happened after game one of our three game championship series with Oklahoma. Credit those OU girls. They put out our fire that had been burning since the SEC championship. Keilani Ricketts was one hell of a pitcher and she had an unstoppable offense behind her. I remember sitting in the dugout when Oklahoma kept threatening, hitting Jackie hard and often, and wondering what I could do. We just weren’t playing Alabama softball. We looked beat already, lifeless. AND THIS WAS THE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Real interesting side story here:

Needless to say that night was where we made a choice. We didn’t wear our infamous ā€œFinish Itā€ bracelets just to come in second place. Aly got a call from Coach Sue Enquist of UCLA who gave us a word of advice: celebrate everything. Celebrate a foul ball when we’re on offense, a good take at the plate, a ball put in play, and even a routine out on defense. The wolfpack (aka the bench warmers) were so pumped for this because we realized that WE could be game changers. We could be the difference in this team thinking they have still got a chance!
