Oh man guys I am sorry to say that it has been more than two months since my last post, but luckily nothing has really happenedā¦JUST KIDDING! I didnāt have much time to blog because my teammate Kayla Braud and I were writing a blog for ESPNW about our journey to OKC. If you never saw these blogs, Iāll post links for them at the bottom
I canāt even begin to put into words what the final series was all about, but here it goes:
I had the privilege to room with Cassie during her final weekend wearing the Crimson and White jersey. Our seniors played a tremendous role in the teamās success. They all found a different way to lead, and I couldnāt be happier for them. I canāt really explain what happened after game one of our three game championship series with Oklahoma. Credit those OU girls. They put out our fire that had been burning since the SEC championship. Keilani Ricketts was one hell of a pitcher and she had an unstoppable offense behind her. I remember sitting in the dugout when Oklahoma kept threatening, hitting Jackie hard and often, and wondering what I could do. We just werenāt playing Alabama softball. We looked beat already, lifeless. AND THIS WAS THE WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP!!!
