🏈 RTB Upgrade (updated with a few screen shots of new format)

hello. figured I would ask this here. Not sure if any of you are familiar with the iphone app touchBB basically it allows you to read forums like this one easily on the iphone without using safari, which safari is a real pain to read forums on. Basically to use this app with a forum the forum admin has to install a script somehow. the details on this app and the script are on the website below..

if you guys want to look into supporting this that would be cool. Not sure how many of you have iphones but like i said it is alot easier to browse forums with this app than using safari. Thanks!

the nice thing about this software package is it allows third party development from site owners...we use some of that here now with things like the casino.

i mention that because I don't know if there is a mobile hack out for this new platform. that said, when we get this done i'll definitely look for it and we'll get it installed as soon as possible.

1. Advertisements have gone a long way in paying for this upgrade.

2. No one on this staff has ever asked any member to click on an advertisement.

3. We'll continue to have revenue-generating material on the new site.

I love this forum, I really do.The members and staff are better than any paysites. But I use to come here alot more before the last upgrade. I am a Chef and spend most of my time at the restaurant. And I do most of my browsing while at work when we are slow on my cell phone.(Black Jack 2,windows mobile) My phone wont seem to load this new format now.

So I guess my real question is.. Is there anyway to add a option for mobile kinda like rivals has? It pretty much takes out all the signatures and stuff that takes alot of loading,and relays in a text only format.

And I know someone mentioned something about iphone and blackberry, but i am not sure that covers my problem I have.

The mobile hack should cover your issues. I feel 99% sure it will. Like I mentioned earlier in this thread it'll be one of the first things we address when we are finished with the upgrade.

Without getting into the specifics, the server cost alone for the site is comparable to what most would pay each month for digital cable in your home.

While the advertising revenue doesn't cover that entire cost, it does take a lot of the bite out of it. The rest of that cost is covered out of pocket, so to speak.

I do understand how the ads might annoy some...but, I also ask folks to understand without them we'd pay for all of this personally.

+1 for a more streamlined "mobile" choice for those of us with iphones and other smart phones. I hate using Safari but I might check out that app the other guy mentioned a page or so back.
