OK folks! The games for week one of our RTB.com Pick 'em contest are up and ready for you to take your chances.

You'll find them each week in the Casino (link is in the gray tool bar just above this post,) in our Sports Betting Parlor.

Games this week include...

Bama vs Va. Tech
Missouri vs Illinois
BYU vs Oklahoma
Oregon vs Boise State...

...and a handful of others around the college football weekend.

Just a few notes, or call it a FAQ, on how the contest works.

• The Bama Bucks you've accrued through activity on the forum, gambling in the casino, etc. are the currency we are using in our betting pool.
• Loans are always available through the banking system. Just click the check button located underneath your username.
• The game winners are based on point spreads listed for games. As example, the Alabama vs Va Tech game is currently listed as Alabama favored. The spread for the game is Alabama -6.5
• If you believe Alabama will win the game by seven (7) points or more place your bet by that option.
• If you believe Alabama will win, but by less than seven (7) points you'll select Va. Tech +6.5. (In other words, you don't believe Alabama can cover the spread)
• And, of course if you believe Va. Tech wins you'll also select the Va. Tech option and place your bet there.
• The over/under for the Bama game represents the total number of points scored by both teams in the game. The over/under is set at 38.
• If you take the over, that means you believe that the total of points Va. Tech scores and the total points Alabama scores, when added together, will be greater than 38. The under would be the exact opposite.
  
• As example, if Bama wins 21 to 10, that would be a total of 31 and therefore under the 38 number.

IF you will, be sure quote the next post in this thread and indicate who you've chosen in which game. It'll add some interest in the contest to see who believes what and should spark some conversation along the way.

At the end of the season we'll be giving out some prizes related to Alabama football to the winner of the contest.

Got the college up today...I think porkchop is going to handle the pro games...I don't follow the NFL. If he doesn't have the time, I'll find another staff member to handle those hopefully.

I hadn't planned on it. At least, not starting off.

While that is up and running, there are still a few things I haven't had time to completely figure out. And, because of the same time restraints, hadn't planned on checking the lines every day to see if they had remained the same.

In all honesty, I don't see a lot of change on points spreads happening between posting them Sunday's and the game coming Saturday...maybe a point, point and a half.

I AM planning on watching it to see how much movement there actually is...

It was pretty interesting to me looking at how people are betting on a few of these games. The La Tech to beat the spread is hilarious...but, I'll admit, I think they will as well.

I haven't decided on S. Carolina vs NC State...but, that's a crazy one as well.
