🏈 Rose Towers implosion July 4th: Anyone of you guys/gals have experiences there?

I didn't start school at UA until my mid-20's so I happen to fall in the "non-traditional" student category and spent my first semester in Rose while looking for off-campus housing. I did get stuck with the "roommate" thing: for three days. It didn't take long to convince those in the Towers I needed a private room.

Top floor, using the excuse it was for "study reasons" but I just didn't want to be around a lot of the other students at the time. Geez, thinking about those few months...well, more accurately about six weeks...it was an experience. I have some pretty darn good memories from the short time there. And no, they won't be shared even though it's tempting. Female posters here as well, ya know?

I'll spend the 4th on the golf course. Forget the masses shooting across town to the beach. But, I'll admit, I'm sort of hoping there's a live stream.

How many of you guys spent time there?

I wonder if there will be a bigger clean up after the building drops or after the implosion-parties. Operation Red Solo Cup in final stages of planning I suspect.

New residence hall going to be built pretty close to the site.

I had a few friends that lived there. I lived in Stadium Aartments from the beginning. That place is supposed to be wiped off the map pretty soon to make room for more condos, with shopping on the main floor. I wonder when it will actually happen.

Wow! Stadium Apts. is a total dump, but we had a blast there. We lived in one that was furnished! I remember waking up STUCK to the couch, which was brown vinyl. Our dumb @sses thought it would be convenient to the Phi house. Little did we know. I still get the "willies" when I think about renting a furnished apt in Stadium. We did, however have the most convenient spot to hangout after hours.

No doubt that it was a dump! My roommate and I had an unfinished apartment. We were on the 2nd floor of the only 3 story building. Best thing about Stadiumn was the fact we could walk to The Strip, get hammered and then stumble back, all without hassle from the police!
