You guys have noticed, I'm sure, how we have a video player embedded in the right column featuring our selections of "Video's of the Week."
Coach Saban's site has the entire season in video format, so I figured we'd run through each week with a different clip.
Since we are staring with Clemson, I thought it might be fun to look back at that game and talk about the different things that stood out to you individually.
I'll start...
I recall hearing around my office and around town (Charleston, SC) how Clemson was going to win with speed, speed, speed. We even had a few Clemson fans here preaching the same thing.
Another thing that really stuck out that week was an interview with Roy Philpott (Clemson beat writer) and how he was so confident about how their offensive line would struggle at first and then settle down to allow their running game and passing attack to dominate the game.
Philpott even went to the point of saying, and I know you've all heard this before, "IF I'm wrong, I'll gladly talk to you the week after the game and admit how wrong I was."
Never heard from him again last season.
That said, first memory of that game looking back? The total rushing yards for the acclaimed "Thunder and Lightening" duo of Spiller and Davis.
