Florida State (6-6) will become the first team in 58 years to play on New Year's Day without a winning overall record.

Yeah, it's pretty sad. I love college football as much as anyone, but there are about 8 too many bowl games IMO. This crap is starting to look like the NHL and NBA playoffs... you have a roster with some dude's with a pulse? Ok, you can play in the postseason...

I was thinking about the same thing. On New Year you never saw any team with more than maybe two loses. And you only saw the Cotton, Sugar,Rose and the Orange Bowl on the 1st. That was it. And these games were never played on Sunday.

Just as another perspective...

With the Gator coming in to the SEC tie-ins that's going to make three New Years Day Bowl games that'll involve SEC teams. The Cap One is moving to January 2nd so it should be a fun 48 hours SEC wise...
