🏈 Richardson will pay the price..

Personally RG3 is a hell of an athlete. If he wins it I will be proud and happy for him. If TR wins it...well...it goes without saying.

If anyone has listened to TR and his limited interviews, you will know he is all about his team.

Just listen to what TR had to say about his Heisman voting after the IB versus what RG3 said in comparison. One man mentions his team. The other mentions himself.

I'll take a team player any day in a championship battle.

My Heisman ballot:

RG3
Trent
Luck

Luck was the sexy pick early but on his big stage, he flopped. Trent had great games on his big TV games with all the hype--he was the only reason Bama's offense moved the ball against LSU and played great against Arky and that other game that you ended the season with. It was Luck's race and he came from ahead to lose it.

Griffin has been on just about every single ballot that has been made public... he has been on more than anyone. I would say Luck is a clear cut 2 at this point, followed by Trent. It looks to me like Griffin has it wrapped up though... and if Trent isn't going to win it, I'd rather it be him. Trent was penalized for not playing this last week though... and a vast majority of the voters forget about the first 3/4 of the season... they only start paying attention in late November. They also look too closely at the stats, IMO, and not closely enough at the actual games. Lastly, there are waaayyyyy too many Heisman voters. Most have no business what-so-ever wielding such power for a prestigious award like the Heisman trophy.

Hopefully Trent will with the Doak Walker award... I have a feeling Ball might end up with it...

This may be some bad logic on my part, but if Ball comes away with the Doak Walker, it may not be the worst thing to happen. I would think (or just hope) that Trent might get a little angry and show why he is the best at the NC game.

This is not a blast on AJ, but if R. Wilson was the QB here, then Trent has at least 300 more yards (and probably 5+ tds) this season imo. Defenders wouldn't have been able to focus on our run game.

RGIII was a great pick-up and the trendy pick. He's done a great job, but almost assuredly this Heisman race will be between Luck and Richardson. RGIII's also had some costly interceptions during his run that cost him team the game. Luck is steady and still pegged as the top candidate this year, and I agree that either RGIII or TR will have to unseat him to win. To do something like that, you have to at least have carried your team to a BCS game (TR took the Tide to the BCSNC, RGIII took his team to the Alamo Bowl.) Not to be a homer, but Trent has the BEST shot at taking this one away from Luck, but I have an inkling suspicion that the voters have all wanted Luck to win this year no matter the problems. The best thing going for Richardson is there's no moment where he "lost" the game for his team. He played solidly all season, not much else you can ask from him.

If RGIII wins it over Trent, I won't have a problem with it. The dude is a phenomenal player.

It sure does sound like RG3 has the Heisman wrapped up. Oh well, just the fact that Trent is there is great recognition for the University.

And I'm with Porter, there are waaay too many voters involved with the Heisman. I was checking out a list of voters last week. There's a guy in there named Pete Weber...if you live in Middle TN you'll probably know who he is. For those of you that don't...he's the play-by-play for the Nashville Predators. He's great at what he does, but I'm left scratching my head as to why the NCAA would allow such a prestigious award to have so many people involved. Especially people who aren't really involved with College Football.

Now, I do believe that Weber has had some football experience in the past, but I think most, if not all of it, has been in the NFL. It just seems weird to me, to have someone whose main focus right now is on the NHL, having a vote for the Heisman Trophy.
