| NEWS Reyes’ Brace Lifts No. 6 Alabama Soccer to 4-2 Win at Tennessee


KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 6 Alabama soccer team (9-1-1, 2-0-0 SEC) captured its first Southeastern Conference road win of the season, topping Tennessee (5-3-1, 1-1-0 SEC) 4-2 at Regal Soccer Stadium. Reyna Reyes highlighted the Crimson Tide offense with a brace as Riley Mattingly Parker and Ashlynn Serepca added goals to the night.

How It Happened​

  • Tennessee scored the first goal with Jordan Fusco taking a shot from distance in the sixth minute of play
  • Alabama responded in the 14th minute with Reyna Reyes getting her head on a corner kick from Felicia Knox on the back post to even the score
  • Riley Mattingly Parker would net the second goal after a cleared ball from a Tennessee defender hit Parker's leg and deflected towards goal in the 24th minute
  • Less than two minutes later, Gessica Skorka lunged to pass a ball over to Ashlynn Serepca inside the six-yard box for the Tide's third goal of the half
  • The Lady Volunteers would come within one before the half ended, scoring a penalty kick with 35:44 on the clock
  • UA notched its final goal in the 50th minute after Kate Henderson saved a ball from going out on the goal line before lifting it over her head to Reyes to control and finish

  • Alabama has won its last five matches and two in a row against Southeastern Conference competition
  • The Crimson Tide held the nation's fifth-ranked scoring offense to two goals as Tennessee entered the match averaging 3.38 goals per game
