I agree that Alabama currently gives athletes a solid foundation which should enable them to succeed in the NFL - and the track record for the draft speaks for itself the last few years. But none of this means they will succeed - which I think is the part of your statement I'm hung up on (gotta love the off season). Maybe Bama prepares guys more for what happens in the NFL than UGA, who knows...at the end of the day, its up to a few things as I see it as to whether that person succeeds - internal drive, timing, opportunity and how that person responds to the timing/opportunity.
I guess I see it like this, going to UGA does not equate to being unsuccessful in the NFL, just like getting drafted in the 1st/2nd round equates to being successful in the NFL. UGA has put a lot of talent in the NFL, as much as Bama historically. Will CNS put more NFL drafted talent into the NFL over Richt during the same time frame, very high probability.
Whatever the case, the kids should look at this as a business decision (as bad as that sounds). Which school prepares them for NFL and life after NFL, gets them drafted high, and gets them the pile of money they want playing a game. The NFL is a short lived job, so get the most you can out of it as quickly as you can. The numbers say most (like 60%+) of these guys end up busted shortly after its all done.
