Alabama defensive end Jonathan Allen and linebacker Reuben Foster have opted to decline their Senior Bowl invites, per CBS Sports NFL draft analyst Dane Brugler.
As expected, #Alabama DL Jonathan Allen and LB Reuben Foster have declined Senior Bowl invites. Both projected high 1st round picks.

This comes to no surprise, as both are considered top-10 selections in April’s draft and can do very little to improve their stock with another in-game performance after such stellar careers in Tuscaloosa.
Bleacher Report lead draft writer Matt Miller lists Foster and Allen as his No. 3 and 5 overall prospects, respectively, in his latest big board rankings. Walter Football’s most recent mock draft has Allen falling to the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 4 overall and Foster heading to the Arizona Cardinals at No. 13.

In 2016, both players served as vital pieces to what was one of the most dominate defensive units in college football over the last decade.
Allen totaled 69 tackles (career-high 16 for loss) and a team-high 10.5 sacks as a senior this past season, while Foster contributed a team-high 115 tackles (13 for loss) and five sacks of his own.

Wise move by both young men. Why take a chance of injury when you know you are going to be a high, 1st round pick? This also gives two spots to a couple of young men that may help their cause as a draft pick or free agent signing.

Sux for the fans agreed but I Totally agree with their decision , two 1st rounders who will vacate a couple of spots For two guys that were on the cusp of being invited and help their draft stock maybe .

In the 'net world, most of these guys don't have editors before content is released. I KNOW they don't do that with any sites that Advance owns.

I cant speak for all of them but I know at BamaHammer when I wrote for them we had two editors that had to approve the story before it hit the net. Even breaking news.
