šŸˆ Reports say Cristobal is Miami's top pick for head coaching position

Maybe Stoutland wants to coach for a winner? :rolf:

That would be an unusual path to a rather high end program (I know, not in some time). Most up & comers have sustained success at a smaller program and are snatched up by a bigger fish. Cristobal was fired by FIU after 5 years going 4-18 in final 22 games. FIU's football program was not established (2nd coach in history of program) and lost every game the season before and Cristobal looked like he was turning things around but petered out and was fired. In his defense, FIU still hasn't been very competitive since his firing so I don't guess he is being penalized for his stint there. Mario does seem to be a good recruiter, but so do most of the assistants that come & go. The secret, they are recruiting for ALABAMA. Don't know enough about coaching OL to evaluate his coaching. I do know we played better vs LSU and it has been documented how little game experience this line had individually as well as a unit which I do know enough to understand to be pretty important. If he goes, wish him well and thank him for his time at Bama.

I do feel safe in saying CNS will find us a new one and In Saban I Trust.

There's currently a debate within Miami about do they go with someone who comes from the program or do they go with a proven winner (I think it's interesting that the two don't coexist). They already tried Randy Shannon and that didn't work. They should look at the Alabama history and see that someone from within the program doesn't necessarily work today. The challenge is they don't have big pockets to pay a Saban-type coach. Game day revenues go to pay for the use of "their" stadium.
