No spin. Chris Rumph is a great hire. I've always been impressed with the DL play of Alabama. They consistently stuff the line of scrimmage and wreak havoc in the backfield.

Now, let's see how Alabama fans spin it. He probably sucks right? He hasn't done well since more pass happy offenses are infiltrating the SEC. Let's see how Alabama fans spin this one.

Texas last DL coach came from Alabama. I wonder if it is under similar circumstances?

Call it spin or whatever else you want to call it, but nothing against Rumph, but other than the big cog in the middle our DL play hasn't been able to get pressure on the QB.

I think this another type of deal as Nussy in that Saban is making changes and part of those changes involve the DL

Maybe Mack Brown will get a promotion and come to Alabama as the DL coach. It would be better than what he has had to deal with considering all the racists on his staff in texas.

If Nick was going to get rid of a line coach, my preference would be for a new offensive line coach. I wish we had Jeff Stoutland back from the Philadelphia Eagles.

I wouldn't say we've wreaked havoc in the backfield. We have had a great pass rusher since Upshaw graduated and he played LB. Now, Robinson came on as the year aged but was that coaching, or talent or what? I don't know. Other than him, our D-line wasn't all that threatening. We even had trouble with the run this year, haven't had that problem in a long time.

I'm a stats guy so to quantify things, we've signed 15 four and five star defensive linemen the last four years and we finished 9th in the SEC in sacks...Kentucky (yep, KENTUCKY) was 8th and they have signed only two...both were true freshmen this year.

All I will say is that I think the new hire will be better accepted than our last one. I do wish CLK and the new DL coach the best.

I'm on the complete opposite end of the spectrum from you on Cristobal. He's got one hell of an offensive line class coming in for starters and I believe he did well this past season.

I would be S.H.O.C.K.E.D. if we saw him encouraged to move on.
