Report: Legendary college football broadcaster Keith Jackson has passed away
From the mid-1960s to the mid-2000s, Keith Jackson was an iconic voice in the college football world.
The ABC broadcaster announced an impressive 16 Sugar Bowls and 15 Rose Bowls during his long and storied career, during which his catchphrases like āWhoa, Nellie!ā and āHold the phone!ā became familiar in households across America.
On Saturday morning, sadly, it was reported that Jackson had passed away at the age of 89, surrounded by friends and family:

The voice of college football and so much more has left us. My mentor and dear friend, Keith Jackson passed last night surrounded by his family. Truly one of the greats in the broadcasting industry. I am grateful for my time with a true legend. Thank you for the lessons KJ.
The Rose Bowlās TV and radio booths are named in Jacksonās honor, and heās a member of the Rose Bowlās Hall of Fame.
Multiple generations of college football fans grew up listening to Jacksonās broadcasts, and heāll be missed by his colleagues and fans alike.
