šŸˆ Red zone offensive plays

It's often occurred to me this season, why we haven't attempted the kind of passing plays which seem to often work against us ... like the so called 50/50 balls.

We've got several tall targets in WRs Kief (6-4) and Sims (6-5) and in most of our TEs. Heck, we even have a 6-8 TE (Stewart)! While we haven't seemed to use these tall receivers much generally, it seems particularly curious why we haven't used them inside the redzone. Can they not out jump opposing DBs and LBs???? Seems like such a waste of size.

Has Stewart even played in a game this year?

Exactly. Line up with Hurts and a RB in a 2-TE set with two of your tallest, surest-handed, and athletic TEs. Put Kief out wide on one side and Sims on the other. And just pick the DB you want to victimize. Or if Hurts sees the secondary playing off, then call a running play and you've got all big bodies on the field to help with run blocking.

Just seems like a devastating strategy, especially inside the 10 yard line.

Well then apply the same concept to 3rd down. Why don't we use our taller receivers to go high point the ball on fade routes and such? Again, I keep thinking of the pass plays which seem to often work against us.

Insert Kief, Sims, and our two tallest TEs and let Hurts and Daboll identify the most favorable matchup.

@musso , we haven't thrown the fade/jump ball since we threw it about 7-8 times over at Ole Miss in the '09 game. We didn't complete a single one to Julio and I imagine CNS ripped that page out of the playbook and burned that bitch!!
