Recruiting - BONE: Monday recruiting thoughts | BamaInsider.com

1. Ok...Let’s start things off this week by hitting on Ishmael Sopsher, five-star defensive tackle from Amite High School in Louisiana. Sopsher was in Tuscaloosa on Saturday. Some took it as a good sign since he attended the Alabama game instead of the LSU/Georgia game in Baton Rouge. I took it as he finally returned to Alabama since the spring after 4-5 visits to LSU. He was joined in Tuscaloosa by his father, one of his high school coaches and his brother (Rodney). Rodney holds an scholarship offer to LSU. I believe it is his only offer. Rodney also isn't playing football this year in junior college. No word if he plans on playing in college. LSU, however, has a spot for him. I don't expect Alabama to offer him a scholarship to play football or just to be a student.

Heard the same things I heard from the last visit- Sopsher was just very quiet. Didn't say a whole lot or spend much time with Tide commitments. If you strongly think Sopsher is a lean to Alabama you are probably wrong according to most of the people I have talked to in the last few days/months. Heard some excuses last time regarding the visit and why Sopsher was non-engaging, but this is the second time/visit in a row when I've heard it was just an average visit. Nothing too exciting. A long way to go with Sopsher for him to end up at Alabama. Bama has felt this way for a long time, so it shouldn't come as a major surprise.

2. On the flip side- I heard the visit with Bryan Breese, five-star defensive end from Damascus High School in Maryland, couldn't have been much better. Breese was joined by his parents in Tuscaloosa. It was the first time he has visited Alabama since the summer fo 2017. Hope to have an interview within the next day or two about his visit. Just heard it was very positive. A long way to go. I don't think he will make a decision any time soon. I doubt he returns this season, but we should see him in T-Town during the spring and/or summer. Alabama has become a major contender.
